I just bought a STi catback to put on my car and was just looking at getting the gaskets that I need. My question is do I need the cat to midpipe gasket for the STi exhaust or the Legacy exhaust? I have the part number for the gasket that the legacy uses (44022AA062) but cannot find the PN for the STi gasket.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The midpipe needs to be extended to meet your cat pipe anyways, so it'll be for whatever the exhaust shop does for a flange. It's not really a bolt on affair.

Ya I knew that the midpipe has to be modified. After thinking about it I think I will just get the one fOr the legacy and then the exhaust shop can weld the old legacy flange on to the midpipe and it will be good to go.

just get the muffler welded to the midpipe. Less leaks you have to deal with

And the midpipe to the cat section. All of the rusting problems I've had with my car were on the flanges.

That is a flex joint meaning it is designed to not be rigid. Welding that joint solid will cause flex somewhere else which will not end well.

In other news the seller cracked the catback that I was supposed to get when he took the midpipe and muffler sections apart so I'm on the lookout again and I think I have one lined up.
