I bought the car after pestering Robin (dead91silvia) for $3,000. being that it had 214k on it with no headgasket history and oil leaks like you wouldn't believe I decided to pull the motor and go through it. Replaced everything from the headgaskets out, even the PCV breather gaskets. Spent $500 between Oreilly auto parts and Subaru.

Once the motor was finished and the car was paid off I started buying parts for it. Replaced inner tie rod end, steering rack boots, both front swaybar end links, front brake pads and rotors,LF hub and axle, RR bearing. Got a set of decent Michelins for $100 to last the season.till got 4 KYB's to put on it but am waiting to get springs to lower the car just a bit.

Now the car came with stock cloth interior that smelled like cigarettes and pot. Robin got me the hook up at a local junkyard $200 for full outback limited leather interior and door cards, cargo mat, and other misc stuff. Just yesterday got a diff skid plate, alarm shock sensor, wiring for siren, and rear limited wagon D pillar tweets and harness, w/panels for $40.

Yes :-(
The bowing at the bottom middle is a dead giveaway.
its still a nice grille just looks better on ebay..
The install issues are 0 tabs to screw in and the edges don't cover the headlights :-(
Either way cool beans...

I'll let ya know. I bought that RFRB, I am going to try both. I got another GT bumper that needs to be prepped and painted to replace the one on the car....so I might prep the grill for paint too.
If I decide not to go with the zerosports I would do a trade for some projector fogs or some other equal value JDM stuff. lowering springs is another on my list.

On order from Japan, apexi strut bar, and TK spoiler, also a set of HKS springs.
stock tails. install is pretty straight forward just time consuming.

D'oh! Sorry Matty, that must have been me. If it's any consolation, I'm here in WA too (da 'Couve). I've been checking ebay several times per day for the last 6 weeks for a Limited bumper. I learned about that ebay seller from one of your guys' threads on here, so I was watching them like a hawk for awhile. It took me all of about 5 minutes to make fairly sure that the was bumper as nice as it appeared, and that it was being sold complete with beam and dual fogs, before I jumped on the buy-it-now. I'll be sure to report back once it's delivered. I was trying to to get Hansvonaxian in Japan to find a Limited bumper for me but we haven't been able to come up with a sensible shipping method.
And Brad's got a great looking BK here, glad to see you've got the Limited bumper on! What are you guys doing about the lack of beefy reinforcement on these lightweight JDM bumper beams? I've got crashworthiness concerns since this will be going on my wife's daily driver. Any way to Frankenstein a USDM upgraded bumper beam under the skin and still mount the foglights?

As most of you know I have bought HeresmyMind's '99 wagon and will be having a transport pick it up in the next couple weeks. It will be my daily driver and the GF will keep using the '97 legacy. There will probably be a lot of parts swapping between the cars.
it's only been close to a year since I updated my thread. I have done quite alot since then. 230k miles now.
A list of parts I have installed:
knockoff header I bought from a local forum member.
Apexi dunk Megaphone axle back muffler.
Tein BG5 coilovers
custom scion TC 3rd LED brake light.
SMK dead pedal.
'00-'01 wagon 2 piece rain guards.
Limited wiper arm (its the little things)
'05 GT wheels.
side markers wired with turn signals.
new parts: big thanks goes out to hansvoxian for helping me out with most all my JDM parts.
Removed clear tails and installed stock center and smoked outers.
aeromagic mid wing. x2
removed TK spoiler for Liberal spoiler.
bought new rear bumper cover to replace current.
bought BG5 side trim.
BG5 mud guards.
RS impreza hood scoop. just need an L hood.
honda pilot wiper arm.
shallow mount 10" sub in the compartment for the jack.
yes you can fit a softball in there. Sounds really good with the header.

Right now I am going over the first estimate insurance gave me. It's a horrible offer. I already bought an 02 limited BE. Once I get a better offer on the car ill figure what I'm going to do with it.

Ah man, just saw this. Sorry to hear, I hope your GF is okay.
I went through all of this insurance BS about twelve years ago when my Scirocco was hit. My first insurance offer was terrible for what was a really rare, nice 16V. I put together a binder with nice pre-accident photos of my car, a list of extra parts with valued prices, and current selling prices - nationwide - of the nicest Sciroccos I could find, and resubmitted to the insurance. The extra effort paid off and I got more than I originally paid for the car.
Black GT wagons are exceptionally rare, the adjuster needs to realize that they go for a premium. Be sure to show them this CL ad from the used car lot - $6995 http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/ctd/4314578029.html

so far this is starting to turn into a pain in the ass. I can hold out as long as possible though. Been going on almost 3 years on an auto accident claim I had.
waiting on a re-review of the appraisal.

Settled for just under $2600 after deductible, tax, blah blah blah
Still not sure what I will do with the car...lots of parts I need off it to replace rusty ones on mine.

Well... I was just telling Robin that I need a black right rear door for my new car. If you wind up parting and the door is clean, let me know. IIRC a wagon door will work on my sedan if I swap the glass.

That it will Thom, mine has a wagon door on the drivers side.

Well...pretty much the only thing left is the engine. Looking pretty sad.
