I have a 1997 Legacy GT and my motor mounts need to be changed, but I'd like to put STi mounts in or stiffer ones in. Anybody know what year STi would fit or a company that make polyurethane replacement ones.

cheers

AFAIK the STi group-n mounts are the same for the various years, I certainly hope so because I have a set waiting to be installed

Not a direct answer, but you could use the factory motor mounts and inject some urethane adhesive into them. I made semi-solid mounts this way and they work wonderfully.

Did you need to remove the engine mounts to inject the polyurethane in? How did the car drive after?

STi mounts will fit - the urethane DIY method is pretty good also.
You will need to remove the mounts to fill them, I think within 24hrs they will be cured?

The tranny mount is also DIY-able.

Sorry for the broken pic.

I did them with the car in the air, squirting the stuff in everywhere I could. Ideally, it would be best to remove and bake the polyurethane, but the heat form the engine and small amount of poly will allow it to harden on its own. Car is more responsive with a bit more vibration in the cabin, but I would say that they are an imperative upgrade.
