I'm under my Legacy tonight removing a broken power steering hose, and I don't know which line this is for. It goes into the front of the rack near the center, then and over toward the left (driver's) side of the car, and ends in some sort of hydraulic junction.
Can anyone tell me if this is a pressure or return line? My camera died over the weekend so I can't take a photo. To get at it, you need to remove a small reinforcing plate from under the steering rack.
Also, is it a dealer-only item?

Can you describe which line is damaged from this diagram?

Here you go.
http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/u ... _gear_box/ (http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_4/steering/power_steering_gear_box/)
IIRC its #33
You can make these lines with the right fittings and using the basic brake line repair method.

Looking at the exploded view I think it's #35 going by the shape, there's a 90deg bend in the line which appears in the photo.
Is it still ok to use a brake line repair kit? And is that part number in the listing the Subaru part number?

Yes as long as its rated over 1500 psi & Yes.
Also clicking on the Part Number shows you a "compatible/interchangeable" list of all Subaru that use that p/n.

Relocated the topic to Chassis & Suspension. I figure it's slightly more related handling than wheels....kind of a misfit.
Carry on with the good info :)
