Ive been a member here for a couple of years and have never posted. I wanted a Legacy Wagon for many reason's. Two big ones, its a wagon and its AWD! Other decision factors were the reliability and uniqueness. Obviously RHD was a huge turn on. I noticed early on that these were the only Japanese cars sold in the US as factory RHD cars. I do realize these were for Postal use at first. I kind of but my Legacy plans on the back burner for awhile, until last month. My current car, 1990 Nissan 240SX (Sileighty Replica) was running into many problems. I will never get rid of it because its my main passion. I don't drift I don't race it. My goal for it is to put all of the best Nissan/Nismo parts available (in the time period 88'-98') Currently it has some of the rarest options and Nismo parts you can find.

I found this 1999 Subaru Legacy Wagon Post (RHD) with 180,000 miles in Ames, OK. Pretty much in the middle of no where. The owner bought it from the second owner in 2009. He had a mail route for 1 year and then parked it. He didn't use it at all in 2011. I purchase it for a very reasonable price but it did need a few things. Being a dirt road mail vehicle, it is extremely dirty on the inside. I vacuumed almost 2 pounds of dirt and dust and rubber bands from it the first night. The guy I bought it from said he did the front and rear brake pads as well as the rear wheel cylinders. The brakes weren't bled properly, and they seemed very dangerous. Also there was a really bad rubbing noise coming from the right rear. The wheel bearing was destroyed. It made it the 200+ miles back to my house in Wichita, KS and was finally replaced this week. My plans are adding the RFRB Grill and Wing, JDM Fog lights, Legacy "Snowflake" wheels, Alpine Head Unit, JDM Floor mats, OEM Mud Flaps and maybe a woodgrain or factory option MOMO Steering Wheel.

When I first got it...

Cool man good luck with it. At first I thought it was all the japan flooding inside the car. Lol.

It was horrible inside. I honestly clean the interior about once a week because of all the dust the still appears. Its a bit of a headache but I can get over it.

I went through the same thing with my car. I picked it up in a rural area. After 3 hours at the car wash and $15 later, I found a car underneath all the dirt. :smt023 Almost (twice) got a postal wagon. Good score, and wait til you pull the seats!! Good luck.

lol the first thing I did was pull the seats. That's where I found all my rubber bands haha

It has a couple things that bug me. The transmission seems to be rough and it's leaking around the pan. Would a new pan gasket/filter/fluid help this? Also when I turn a corner the car seems to lose power, like it isn't getting fuel for a few seconds. Finally the steering wheel while turning pulls frequently and the stops. Does that mean the rack is bad?
