Hey guys I have Racelands on my leggy, got them last week and put them on this past weekend. I’d like to know how the height can be adjusted with them. I tried yesterday adjusting it like the way other coilovers with the same set up adjust but it didn't even change anything so I’d like to know, do I have to adjust them buy unbolting the bottom part and doing it through that or did I actually do something wrong. Note this is my first time dealing with coilovers, and I know some of yawl are like "ew Racelands" but for now when dealing with suspension this is all I could afford with my college student budget because trust me. I really want BC's.

Measure your current height at all 4 corners. Figure out where you want/need to be.
Get spanner wrenches out
jack up car/take off wheel.
Loosen top collar on coil over
Twist top collar upwards (spring will rise) to desired height
Bring bottom up to lock into place with the top 1 and tighten.
and put everything back together (wheel etc...)

You mean the very botton collar or the one thats underneath the collar holding the spring in place.

The 1 holding the spring in place. There should be 2: 1 on top of the other. Loosen the top 1 and turn clockwise (tighten) until you have it where you want it. I would measure where they are, to where you stop with them. Just a thought, but not necessary.

Yes, and No. Hold the bottom 1 with 1 wrench. If the top is stubborn (which I don't think yours will be. You just put them in) Then you can loosen the bottom.
My E36 kit, came with helper springs. Did yours? They raise it a bit more. Also, did you transfer or add bump stops? Any pics???

I can take pics later after i get home from work and not at all mine was just the coilovers and the tools to adjust it. And okay. Definitely will try it again, I want to lower my car to where the front mud guards are super close to the ground. Also what if while turning the collar the spring moves with the collar, as in not going up with the compression but it moving exactly with the collar at the same points as where it was before you turned it, In this case it would be stubborn I guess.

twist the black part holding the spring to the right i belive is all youd have to do

Wait... I thought you wanted to raise it? If it's lower you want to go, then reverse (Loosen) what i said up top. Definitely start with the bottom. And as far as how it should be set up, basically should be somewhat in this order:
TopHat
Spring
top locking collar
bottom locking collar
Strut
The pic 240_Benzo has, the bottom locking collar is all the way down, but should be brought up to lock the upper in place.

i like to only have one collar so i can lower it without having to take the wheels off..personal preference ha
but later on ill be turning the lower mount upward and raising the top collar back up all the way-hopefully it smoothens out the ride

Ah cool yeah idk I'm such a noob lol and I swear I adjusted them this way that one time when i said nothing happened but Ill try again. I really want to slam my car fully lol well at least maybe to where the front mud guards are touching the ground. but definitely would love to be as low as scrape Crusaders legacy
Wait do you mean the lower mount that’s attached to the part holding up and hub and rotor and what not? shoot if that’s what you mean then I’d love to do the same, I’d like to make the ride a little better but it really doesn't bother me but that also would make my car low :] I wonder how low I could go with the front to where I would be able to have the tire straight and be able to turn. I just hate how the camber plates won’t go fully straight from side to side. :/ ether I have to loosen that top bolt to fix that or I have to get a new set of front coils.

I meant the black ring/collar part that the Red Spring is sitting on top of. Turn the black ring until it gets closer down towards the hub. That will in turn, lower the car.

No, you should take it to an alignment specialist after it's dropped to where you like it and let them dial it in/out with certain degrees of Camber.

Mine (BC Racing) adjust the same way. I had them pretty much cranked all the way down. I adjusted the bottom 2 collars to move the shock cartridge down as far as I can without touching the front cv boots. Then cranked the top collar all the way down. I had 2 threads left maybe. The springs will have no preload though so be warned. I'm sure others here will tell you not to do it. The rears had factory pre load still. Only the bottom 2 collars were adjusted. Plenty of thread left, so no need to adjust top collar.
This was all on 205 40 16s though. If yours are bigger, you physically can't go lower. The tires will rub away the fender liners and hit the fender tubs. Ask me how I know. Also cranked all the way down, the front axles will rub the chassis.

Exactly what I was trying to keep him from doing. However, It's your car... Your repair bill.

Well thanks for the alignment tip because I was going to do that next and yeah 240 I actually just got done lowering the bottom mounts on the front. They’re a quarter inch up so yeah everything I've been asking about I just did and figured out on my own. Oh but one shitty problem, one of my bolts stripped the threads on one of the top thread parts to where the camber plates are so unless there’s a way to get the nut off and rethread it, there’s no way to take my front passenger side coilover fully off, even if I just wanted to take the camber plates off.
Oh yeah dude!! 240!! You definitely should bring up your bottom mounts. I brought up only the front ones and holy crap my car rides way better.
