I don't know if we have any audio junkies out there but I am looking for opinions. I am looking for 1 decent 10" sub to replace my 2 12" cheap Walmart subs. I figure I will gain trunk space and probably sound quality at the same time. Anyway I have narrowed it down to 3 canidates:Alpine SWR-1043D, Rockford Fosgate P3D4-10, and the Pioneer TS-W2502D4.
Here is a nice side by side comparison:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/CompareTo.aspx?compareItems=01|500SWR1043&compareItems=01|5751P3D410&compareItems=01|130W2502D4&g=520
and as far as prices go:
Alpine 600 watts RMS 4 ohm DVC $120
Rockford Fosgate 500 Watts RMS 4 ohm DVC $125
Pioneer 800 watts RMS 2 ohm DVC $100

Edit:
I picked out an amp to go with each one of these, maybe someone will let me know if I am picking this stuff out correct.

With the pioneer a Rockford Fosgate R750-1D 750 watts x 1 at 1 ohm (note: I will be ordering the 2 ohm DVC version of the sub to make this one work.)
amp costs $220 for a total of $320

With the Rockford a Rockford Fosgate R500-1 500 watts x 1 at 2 ohms
amp costs $150 for a total of $275
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575R5001/Rockford-Fosgate-Prime-R500-1.html?tp=115

And with athe alpine a Pioneer GM D8500M 600 watts x 1 at 2 ohms
amps costs $185 for a total of $305

Thanks for your help

What amp are you going to be running (max watt and RMS)? And if you want some real space back, look into some of the Shallow mounts. I have an Earthquake in my car. Pioneer makes some good shallow mounts as well.

I will pick out the amp after I decide what sub I am buying. I know enough to be able to pick the correct amp that will be correct for the sub. I just need help deciding what is the difference between these subs.
I looked into shallow mounts and i'm not sold. They cost way more and I don't need space that much. I have had half of my trunk taken up from subs for the last 2 years. I will be gaining enough space back from just going to 1 10"

Personally I've had the fosgates and love them. I'm also a huge fan of alpine. Either way good choice on going to a 10". I've found them to have a much better range than the 12's. Sorry I'm not of much use. Im on my phone so looking those up right now would be a pain.

Both Alpine and Rockford are good for subs. I've ran Alpines and Rockfords in the past and they are both top notch! Just make sure your AMP can handle it.

You'd be good with any of the three. I'd say the amp is the harder/more important buying choice.

The Pioneer looks to be the easiest to drive with the most headroom, so it would certainly free up amp choices. But you never really know how good they'll sound until they're all hooked up.

Bump this up, I added amps to go with each sub in the first post.

I got 2 12in p3s on a bd1000. They are pretty nice. I'd go with a p3 10 in a sealed box and a p500-1. Pm me and I'll design you an install.
