Well the car is sponsored by New Zealand companies, so my guess is that it was used in a race series in NZ sometime... kind of hard to see when or what race though, but I would guess that it's likely to be a mid-90s event.

@ Okin: Drift union's Leggy Yeah i have him as a friend on FB he's part of the reason why i wanna tune my 1st gen for something other then being a Rally car or off roader, the only time i ever see a tuned Street version is only if it's a turbo....so i'mma try with my NA

^^ A old buddie of mine in NZ reworked his 1993 RS and did some pretty slick stuff with it. Took it to the track etc.

They're a fun chassis. Quite lightweight, and you can put a big turbo on the ol turbo EJ22.

I spent some time trying to find info on this car and yet I can't find anything :-(

Side note.. that intercooler piping is very interesting.. crossing over the intake manifold.. hmm... are those defogers on the front windshield? :smt017

on another note, that front lip with underpanel ( the last pic) is a good idea. Too bad it lacks in the visual and fiberglass is not my thing

It's got a flipped intake manifold. Look real close!

Flipping the intake manifold 180degrees was all the rage in NZ back in the late 90s early 2000s... I saw a TON of GC and BD subbies with that kind of mod. I think the reason people did it was to reduce the amount of FMIC intake pipe they were using.

now i'm really curious as to what became of it. i take switching around the intake like that...isn't just a simple job to do, unless there was some power gains by doing it. wonder if it retained it's awd and how much hp it put down

I'm guessing Huffer's guess is correct - switching the intake manifold like that reduces the amount of piping (and space it takes up) to the intercooler.

I'm also guessing it has no power steering system, since the piping goes right where the pump would be. Not that it's a big deal on a track car like that.
