2012 SLi Mid-Atlantic Meet [SAVE THE DATE!]

Hey guys! I saw that Shane (Reason) has started planning for the NE meet. I know there is a large amount of members in the general area, and thought we could have our own meet instead of driving 7+ hours to RI! Lemme know if you have questions or input to when and where the meet should be. Thanks!

WHEN: July 7th, 2012
TIME: 11am-4pm
WHERE: PPL Montour Preserve (700 Preserve Road Danville, PA)
WHAT TO BRING: Lawn chair, side dish/snacks, and any kind of entertainment you would like (football, frisbee, corn hole, the ladder game, etc.)

Plan it all out and stick with it people will come. Do a yearly meet stick with it and it will grow. First year I did the NE meet there were 4 cars, 2nd year had 5. Ever since it has been in double digits, largest showing has been 22 cars iirc. So find a good spot, pick a time, date and stick with it and it will work out. But you have to keep the date in their heads. Bump up the thread, PM everyone you can in the area, and If you have to spread the word to other forums and point them back to this thread. Good luck

Glad to see many committing to the meet! I'm trying to get a general consensus on where we should have the meet? I'm thinking in Central PA so the drive is not far for many who live outside the state. Anyone else have suggestions?

Well the only thing about having it at milton is that there isnt many food places real close. There's only a mcdonalds in town. about 15 minutes away in Lewisburg there's a bunch of food places. Its also a very easy drive so if people wanted to go get food (this is if its not like a cookout meet) its not bad.

I was thinking hot dogs, hamburgers, and if anyone wants to bring a hot or cold dish, (mac & cheese, chips, pretzels, etc.) we could start a list. What's everyone thinking about the location. Any other suggestions in the Central Pa area?

i definitely like the idea of having people bring stuff and having a cook out. Its always fun and aslong as there's enough people coming it works out fine.

Another place that could be a possiblity is the PPL Montour Preserve. I've pretty much grown up there and its always a beautiful place to spend a day. Here's a segment we did for the TV show i do that kind of outlines the lake. Its perfect for anyone that wants to bring famlies since theres playgrounds and hiking trails.

Sweet deal, the only thing is if we want a pavilion for that day, we may have to book it. They do have first come first serve if they aren't booked for that day, but my guess is with it being summer, it may get busy. If we don't want one of those, i believer there's plenty of picnic tables and some that have grills i believe. The cost of renting the pavilion's are anywhere from 30 to 75 for the bigger ones and can be rented for half or full days... I wouldn't mind pitching in to help book it just as long as people show up..haha

I thought about renting one, but if we only have 7-10 ppl attending, its not worth using a 40 person pavilion. We can grab a picnic table, call dibs on a grille, and bring lawn chairs. I'll be bringing a couple lawn games (Corn hole, the ladder game) to keep us entertained.

Sorry Shane. I have that weekend booked for a camping trip with some close friends. Make sure to tell all Legacy owners about it, and if you want to invite other Subaru owners that's fine as well. Had a nice turnout for the first ever mid-atlantic region. 13 Subarus, and one VW. 8 of those subies were Legacys, and the majority of the attendees are SLi members. Planning has already started for next year, so get ready for the next one!

Many forums map out their regions differently. On here it may be Mid-Atlantic, and on another it's Tri-State. Then on NASIOC they have both for some reason. :smt017
