okay. my 96 L has a rebuilt motor. new alternator, battery and all fuses are new. it was only clicking when i tried to turn it over. so i made sure the motor wasnt seized as it had sit a while, and turned it over by hand. then i tried to jump start it with my other BD and it just stoped doing anything once i tried to turn it over. didnt blow any fuses yet no lights are coming on at all... cant even take it out of park.

i really dont know what to do. if anyone knows anything about this then please help...

it does have an alarm system that i dont know how to get rid of so that might be it but if there is anything else i should check please post it up.

are you aware of the security button under the dash by the hood release?

um... theres two buttons on the steering column but they do nothing... idk because its not a factory alarm. its a clifford alarm

Factory alarms are Clifford/Code Alarms. Turn the ignition on til the dash lights come on. Press and hold button(s) for up to 15 seconds. Turn key back. Car should be in Valet mode. If you have the key fob. Hold both buttons on the fob down instead.

the lights on the dash arent coming on at all... and the fob has four buttons... i really dont think its a factory alarm... try it anyways?

If the lights on your dash aren't coming on at all, then the issue is NOT in your alarm. Check the grounding wires and the connection to your battery.

sat for a little over a year. with a battery in it. the lights were coming on until i tried to jumpstart it. turned the key and all of a sudden spark by the battery and all lights went out and i cant even put a different battery in and do anything. i'll check the ground wires though.

Sounds like you've blown some fuses, probably a fusible link.

thats the thing is all fuses are good. and new.
