Overspool- 1999 - Legacy Wagon - 30th Anniversary Edition
I bought a 1999 Subaru Legacy Wagon, 30th anniversary edition from Rick at RSD about 8 months ago now. I love the car. I've owned an 08 wrx, a 93 impreza, and now this legacy.
A little about me: I'm a Cusco whore. I build my cars right, I don't cheap out on parts. What I can't buy, I can make. I am an Auto Student at WSU in Ogden, UT. I am dual majoring in Toyota T-Ten (closest to Subaru as I could get) and Auto Body.
I bought this car with the intentions of building the perfect DD. Reliable, a little bit of "umph" and fun to drive :)
Current mod list:
Engine:
EJ251
Suspension:
Cusco Vacanza Rear Sway Bar (specific to the BG5)

That's all functional/cool stuff. Here are the other "mods":
02 WRX front seats

Here are some pictures :)
When I first got it:

I had to hack out a part of the spare tire well to fit the Cusco Stabilizer bar...
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/12/P10100022-1.jpg
Here it is boxed in and tacked in place. I stitch welded it, painted it with POR15 and covered the seams with seam sealer after I took this picture.

That's a nice BG9. There's another guy on the forums in UT who is also skilled at mechanics. You guys know each other?
Oh, and please read the member's ride thread rules so it doesn't get locked. I'd like to see more of this.

your wagon is looking quite good, nice bonanza too!
reason will be wanting you to change the formatting of your mods list (see here (https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5808)) with it separated into different sections (interior, exterior, suspension, engine, etc)

Beautiful, wow. All you need now is a set of JDM projectors to finish up the front end.
And a properly formatted post.

my bad. I edited my first post to include the correct formatting.
Yamakazi- If you're talking about Lord Flasheart.. yup we know each other :)
fwa2500- thanks :) The bonanza is my dad's toy lol.
anothernord- They're in the works. The bracket for one of my corner lights broke and the light flew off on the freeway. Instead of buying a new corner... I'm buying new lights :D
I'll get some interior shots and engine bay shots soon.

Which spacers did you use? And was there any modification of the spacers? Or shaking? Downsides?
I'm heavily interested in getting a set for my car , but to switch the bolt pattern for a few sets of wheels I have for another makes fitment.

I used Ichiba +25mm spacers. The only hubcentric spacers I could find were the Ichibas and the H&Rs.
The only thing I can tell you is that after you torque the wheel down, keep retorque-ing your lug nuts every day. I didn't do that, and almost lost a wheel. The studs aren't pressed in 100% of the way, so after driving they get a little loose. I went for a "spirited drive" up a canyon by me, and on the way back I had a nice vibration and noise. I thought I seriously messed something up, but it turned out the studs had pulled themselves the rest of the way out. I retorque'd my lugnuts and was good to go :)

I'm ordering JDM projectors today/tomorrow because of this:

The tab broke and it fell off on the freeway somewhere in Idaho lol.

For those that wanted some interior shots...
Here is my current shift knob:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/12/P10100421-1.jpg
It's technically for an AE86, but the thread pitch is the same.

Here's the shiftknob that my friend made me. I asked him to make a giant one and I'd give him my old sway bar. Well, it's fairly large.

I know the interior pics aren't the greatest. She's a little dirty right now (snowboarding, road trip, etc). And the first chance I get I'll clean her up and get some better pictures.

I thought you were a Cusco whore?
Great looking car - that Chargespeed bumper is awesome. Any plans to balance the rear bumper out a little?
I'm planning on redoing my blue winter wheels to red next year... and I think you made up my mind.

I am, but I buy stuff that is already stateside lol. Hopefully I'll have my box in 10-14 days. I just ordered a metric sh*tload of tools that'll be here in 5 days as well... man I'm spending money like crazy.
I'm on the lookout for a rear lip of some kind. I might attempt to make one out of a body filler, make a mold of it, then make a CF rear lip... I'm learning about composites right now in school :) I also want some sideskirts. But I really don't want to pay shipping on all that.
sidenote: I have a friend who can get me stuffs from upgarage... MOAR CUSCO THINGS! :D Well... that is if I decide not to spend money on my corolla... It'll be drift season in a few months and I really want to start.

Nice car with some quality parts like the brakes & BBS wheels. You should really get some OE side skirts and a rear lip and paint them to match your aggressive front bumper. It needs them to pull off the look you're going for.
Also, your car is not a BG5, its a BK6 without the raised or stepped roof of the JDM Legacy's/ US Outbacks. Just take a quick peak at your VIN.
Cheers

Baller! Always nice to see more Legacies in UT. I didn't know that one of the RSD guys used to have a Legacy.

It's a BK9. The VIN isn't a model code. Look at the "applied model" that under the VIN on your ID plate. THAT'S the model code.
Not VIN. What does the Applied Model Code say? Here: http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=17332
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2013/04/readme_appliedgif-1.jpg
The VIN is different for different markets. The Applied Model Code is universal. Which is why they say to look at that on the back of catalogues (click thumbnail):
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/09/th_Legacy040-1.jpg (http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/pp350/yamazakisubaru/car%20parts%20accessories/parts%20catalogs/Legacy/Legacy040.jpg)
A 2.5L NA 2nd gen Legacy (or Outback) wagon will always be BG9 (raised-roof) or BK9 (non-raised roof).

I know, right. In my option, two of the better, cleaner 3 wagons on the site got slammed in the arse this month. Not to jinx anyone, but I hope the guy who's user name starts with an S, ends with an R, and could be pronounces as Cyber is still ok.

Yeah... makes me super sad. But I'm onto a new car... I'll hopefully be picking up a purple 94 impreza sedan with an RA STI swap. The brembos are already gone... trading plus cash for a set of legit brides. they're going in my project car... AE86.
