Seal Kits

Anyone ever use any of these Seal kits you see all over Ebay? If anyone has anyother resources for quality seal kits let me know!

You can get an entire re-seal kit online for a good price. I bought mine from the following link, as it was the cheapest place to get it:

I would send both of those places an email, and they will get back to you. Just tell them you need an entire engine re-seal kit. If that IS in fact what you are looking for.

This is the kind of sets i'm looking for but i dont need to do head gaskets and that kind of stuff. I HAVE to do the rear main, front seals, valve covers, and all that goes along with this. I'm going to end up pulling motor out to do all this BS and anything more you all can help with with this is so greatly appreciated! First time pulling a car motor, excited to do it but also alittle intimidated. If anyone is Local to PA and wanna help.. that would be awesome too! lol

I used one of the cheapie kits on my EJ20. I got mine from Evergreen Automotive or something. The valve cover gaskets themselves are okay, but the bolt seals are already crumbling as the rubber is decaying after only ~2k miles. The cam seals are fine so far, as well as the front main seal. The looks to be the same quality as the rest, but I didn't use it.

If I had to do my rear main, I would definitely use an OEM seal. That thing is so big that if they got the tolerances wrong just a tiny bit, you'll have a leak and have to pull the engine again. Again, get an OEM rear main!


For you, since you don't need the head gaskets, I would almost just buy the other things individually from Advance Auto, then use their 20% off coupon on their website. If I did it again, I would do it this way.

I've used those kit on two subie engine before but like nord says use the oem rear main seal. If you have the motor out then you might as well do the head gasket. If you do buy metal headgasket. Also don't use the oil pan gasket since mine is leaking (subaru uses a sealant not a gasket). Just use silver rtv sealant
