What’s the best route to go to when it comes to putting new valve cover gaskets on? I have the EJ22 and I need to replace the gaskets on mine but would like to know if it would be wise to order something through pepboys or advance or get a high performance set or what have you.

i literally just did this to my 2.2L about 6 weeks ago. Use oem gaskets and get new grommets and spark plug gaskets too. just like doing spark plugs in terms of removing intake for pas side and washer bottle/tery on drivers side. I think it took me about 2 hlurs going slow and cleaning everything real good.

I did mine recently (within 2 weeks). I removed the batt, intake, and washer bottle. I purchased an AutoZone gasket kit and I've had no problems with size and (as of now) failure. Depends on your budget and how long you intend to keep the car.
