What should I call it? 2.5GT or RS GT, or?

Ok, so now I'm trying to figure out what to call my car... I have just about every JDM part I can get.

Factory its a 1998 Legacy 2.5 GT Limited.

added or changed parts:
-JDM GT-B Limited Bumper
-JDM headlights
-JDM Tail lights
-JDM side markers
-JDM Scuff plates
-JDM Mud guards (on the way)

with
-2.5 N/A EJ25 (swap to ether a 2.0 or 2.5 turbo)
-soon to be wired Heated Mirrors and seats (USDM BD GT never had them)
-17" 2005 GT wheels (to be painted gunmetal soon)
-Large brakes (sometime soon)
-OEM Leather
-SUS grill

In Japan, they dont have GT sedans/saloons, only RS's. So is my car a 2.5 GT-B.spec, 2.5 RS-B spec, RS-B. spec Limited... or? The car will be turbo'ed someday. The only problem will be that we here in the USA have 2.5RS Imprezas, so I wanted to make sure I'm not going to use 2.5 RS. Also, it will be "2.0 RS" or "2.0 RS-B" depending on the motor it gets.

Note: The end of the name will have "Limited" added to it.

I always wondered this myself, if putting the JDM parts on it essentially made it the JDM model in LHD. Because i've been wanting to call mine a B4 for so long now. I mean, technically, it is a Boxer 4 engine, and It looks like a B4 (for the most part, I still have some stuff to buy). Im just worried people will call me out for it being LHD.

Uhh... just so you know - we DO have GT sedans. They're the more "luxury" model. The RS is the more "sport" model.

If you did any of the "RS-B" stuff, that would make it unique since there's no such thing here so that's what I voted for. The problem is that a lot of people thinks that's an actual trim, so it lessens the "wow" factor on the larger populace.

Honestly, what's stopping you from calling it whatever you want? At the end of the day, it'll always be whatever Subaru called it from the factory. Just modified a bit. My Blitzen project will have the same exterior, suspension, brakes, engine, trans, etc. as the actual Blitzen6, and it still won't be a Blitzen. It'll always be an Outback H6 3.0 VDC Sedan. That won't stop me from calling it a Blitzen6 though.

Id drop anything with the term "spec" at the end of it, i feel like thats more of a honda ricer thing, just a simple RS-B would sound pretty cool though

You are right and I did know that... derrrr... I meant RS-B Sedan. Like the GT-B wagon.

But yeah, I like the RS-B also, just because they never where, anywhere.

Thats the plan... If I remember correct, the GT-B is a "GT-B spec", so thats why.

I might have a badge made for it, or get a RS and GT-B JDM badgers and put them together some how.

Well, there was a GT/B Spec and then a GT-B. The GT/B Spec is an earlier model (before the projector headlights).

I have tons of JDM parts on my L, it will always be an L. It may LOOK like another model but it is what it is. I like the idea of having an L tricked it more than other models. People dont expect much from it when I tell them what it is. But it's different when I get into details lol. It's a good conversation piece though. Because when you say it's a xxxx some people may say hey no such thing, or what is that and you will kind of have to explain.

To me, it's no longer a normal 2.5 GT. When someone asks me what it is, I will say its a Legacy GT, but this is kinda for myself and other Subaru nuts. It's a conversation starter.

It's kinda like my Pulsar. 90% of People in American have no idea what it is and I have to explain it, but at the same time, the people that know the cars, know what it is. I dunno, I'm just building a car that never exsisted and making my own version just makes it more mine. Yanko did kinda the same thing with cars in the 60's so why not? =)

Don't add a "B" to whatever you end up calling it. That would insinuate that you have Bilstein suspension. I'd call it a modified Legacy GT Limited

^on that token, technically it would be a GT-KYB lol. Also when i had my outback with all the JDM goodies (basically everything from the A pillar front was JDM short of the motor wheels and suspension) it was still an outback to me and thats what i called it....even when it was lowered
