Subaru/Lotus Merger?

Now that Toyota has developed the FT-86 with the Subaru "Boxer" engine, I foresee a combination with Lotus in the near future!

Lotus Elise + 200hp DI "Boxer" engine = :smt007 :smt007

Doubtful ..

Lotus is owned by Proton which is a Malaysian auto manufacture and I don't see that combo working out. Specially since Toyota owns a large majority of Subaru.

Lotus makes good cars but they have a lot on their plate. They wanted to expand the model line up to 6-10 models.
A boxer powered Lotus would be awesome. Certainly rival Porsche.

With that said. Subaru and Toyota bring back the old MR2 (not the spyder) with a boxer engine would be amazing.

Lotus uses Toyota's engines (from the Camry I believe), and now that they have their hands on the boxer motor, I would love to see it happen. Only problem I would see is if their is enough space to fit a boxer in a lotus (width wise)! lol
