Hey would it be okay to use that Preston power steering fluid to add alittle more into my reservoir?

UUmmm...read your power steering fluid cap. It doesn't mention PS fluid. It mentions Dexron, an ATF.

ATF is Automatic Transmission Fluid. Dexron is the specific kind you need.

I'm talking about power steering fluid not tranny fluid.

I know....Subarus don't use PS fluid for steering...they use Tranny fluid for steering.
I learned this a hard way. I originally put PS in my slightly leaky power steering system and it just made it worse. I ended up replacing it with a 05 RS PS pump and now the system is fully synthetic Dexron V.

Okay yeah I just went back and looked wow okay, what brand of ATF would you consider?

Brand doesn't matter.
Make sure you get the right kind. Dexron III or IV or V (3,4,5). I wouldn't recommend V since you're just adding to existing because its synthetic.
