Hard to explain but i hope you all can help

okay all lets start, I was making a left had turn at low speed 5 mph or so as i was turnig it sounded like the axel popped out and it made a strange grinding noise. wile the car was still in gear it went to idle rpm around 500 rpm. When i put the car in 2nd gear i got grip again and was able to drive home. when i got home i tried to do the same thing. Taking the car to my storage untill i can find time to take it in i was in 2nd gear costing down and it popped out right after i stoped accelerating. I'm thinking it is the axel because it sounds like the little gears on your axel grinding and its only on the driver side of the car. but i'm no pro so thats why i will take it into the shop. unless someone can tell me what they think it could be or what i could look into. Hope i can get some help if not its okay, i cant really describe what is happening except the fact that its a grinding sound and its only on the driver side wheel area.

That wouldn't be it. Its bolted on the hub. Maybe the those things that is inside the boot that would pop out but not what you outlined.

Jack the car up and inspect the driver side area. Spin the wheel to see if you can pinpoint the noise

Okay so i jacked up the car and grabed that axel and was able to movie it in and out of trans(hope you know what i mean) and it was able to move about 2/8th inch. I was told that it should not move at all and if it does then i have a bad axle. I didn't have time to take it off but if you all think its a good idea then i will. IF you all have no idea and think i should wast my money giving it to a shop that will steal my money(lol) then i will!!

No, the axles do move a little. Not a lot, but a little.

If your car won't move without being in 2nd gear, then your clutch is damaged.

I thought that too but how come it happends when its in Neutral. If i'm coasting in neutral and i take a turn left or right (5 spd MT btw) i feel a little pop then it starts making that noise.

Chances are its your axle man. I've had to replace both my front ones on my car as they would make a grinding / clunking sound while driving / turning right. I wouldn't doubt that this is the issue you are seeing.

Okay i'm gonna take it out tonight and i'll post up some pic/vids of what i find

If it only happens when you are turning to me that points to the differential. So the question is can you make it make the grinding noise when you are going straight ahead? If so then it is probably not the diff. And also does it only occur with a right turn or does it make the noise with a left turn too? If it only occurs on a right turn check for something rubbing somewhere.

Glad its fix, its probably ran out of the grease or a foreign object went it there.

Glad to see you got it fixed! I figured it was the axle. Mine did the same thing when it broke / was worn out. It would clunk / click and make noise ONLY when turning right. It turned out to be the left side axle, but i had both replaced at the time as they were both worn. Mine never made any noise when going in a straight line, and would ONLY make noise when turning and accelerating.
