What is this sensor? 2008 legacy

My dad's 08' legacy 2.5i developed an oil leak. I'm not around town this week so he wants to know what to tell his mechanic. So what is the sensor for in the middle of the picture that has the white harness plug on it?

My guess would be oil pressure sender but I don't know if they moved it from under the alternator to there...

It is a pressure sensor for the variable cam timing I guess

Oh okay.. that makes sense. did you get i fixed?

Yeah, my buddies shop replaced the sensor and it's been good for a few weeks
