Rear defoger problems

Hey
I guess it's got something to do with the electrical system.
Some of my rear defroger lines don't work.
What could be causing this problem and how can i fix it ?

1. Expensive option: New rear windshield.
2. Less expensive but error prone: electrically conductive "paste" or "glue" that joins the heater element together.

And if you use the glue and don't know where the break is you can use a volt meter to test the lines.
