I am just about done installing my audio system. I am using 0 awg wire as my power wire, and i am planning on upgrading the ground wire. My question is will i need to upgrade to a 0 awg ground wire or a 4 awg ground wire? I also noticed that coming out of the neg. battery terminal there are two wires one connects to the tranny and the other connects near the left headlight (left side as if you were sitting in the vehicle), will i need to upgrade both of these wires or just one, if just one which one? Sorry if these are stupid questions, i new to messing with my cars electrical system. Any help and/or pics would be great!

More useless info
Upgraded to a Optima Yellowtop
Upgraded both battery terminals to some KnuKonceptz terminals

wow 0awg, what kind of audio system are you running? I ran a 1/0 in my sti from knuconcepts to a distribution block in the back pulling 2 4awg wires from that to feed 2 amps. (one for sub one for components)

Anyways, the ground does not need to be the same size as the power wire. 4 gauge should be good, but I would ground more spots than the factory did. Ground from the battery right to the body of the car as close as possible, one to the firewall right next to the igntion ignitor, and one to the intake, then branch off from those in a daisy chain type hitting the engine block and the oposite side of the engine bay near the air box.

These are the 8 main spots

That is exactly what im running 0 awg to a dist. block then 2 4 gauge to a mono block and a 4 channel amp. Hopefully it will all work out, thanks for the help and the pic

Yeah it worked good for me, I never had a problem with anything knuconcepts is a good company, I also used their 1 farad cap in my system.. I was running 1 12" 1000Watt sub, and Infinity Kappa components off a 680 watt 4 channel
Sounded real nice to me. I also Dnyamatted the whole car

The grounding mod helps out nicely with the engine performance too it is a smoother power. I dont know if it actually gives you more power, but it def feels like it runs smoother

so when you split the wire up how did you do it? Did you solder 2 seperate wires into one terminal? And then farther along the wire (ground #4 and #6) how did you connect those? I just want to make sure i do this right.

just use one on the end of each wire and you just remove the bolts that are already in each of those spots and use them to hold down the ring terminals

This isnt my kit, nor my car in the picture, but I bought one for my STi when I had it. you can see how he cuts the wires and puts the terminals on in that picture.. Hope that helps some

Note: you dont need to hit every spot in that picture, but it wouldnt hurt. I would say at least hit both fenders, one of the intake ones, and the firewall and engine block

yeah, that was just to give a general idea of how the wires were cut to lenth then the terminals are crimped on
