View Full Version : Anyone ever rewired/reversed the polarity of the headlights?

Has anyone here reversed the polarity of the headlight system in the BE/BH?
The stock setup gives me a delay when installing highbeams and another delay on the drivinglights and it's pretty annoying.

Can it be done cheap and easy?

The passenger side wires are thinner then the driver side.

I am going to assume that your delay you speak of is the drive headlight turning on before the passenger?

Can you describe the issue a bit more.

Are you using HID's?

Not left to right delay.
The issue is that because of the reversed polarity of the headlight system i have to use an extra relay to correct it.
I don't have HID's in my drivinglights. They are Hella Dynaview's wich has it's own controlbox. When installed directly to the OEM headlight harness there's either no light or constant light.

But when i put the relay inbetween i can get them to work but there's a 1-2sec delay from the ordinary highbeams.

Let me know if something is still unclear.

"Just wire it up to have constant power and the switch is grounded. So pins 85 and 86 have the +12V and the switch that is grounded."

No need to swap polarities.

Right, you have red flashers on the trailers. Damn.
Have to run trough it with a test-light.
