Makes no difference as long as doesn't use a MAF adaptor.
What is the engine code for your legacy? EJ251 / EJ252 / EJ253? You can find this on your info ID plate (vin plate) located on the driver side shock tower.

251 and wrx intakes won't work because they have turbos correct?

EJ251 is golden. No need for MAF adaptors or strange configurations.
Any intake for a 02+ 2.5RS will work.
The WRX intake is designed to fit under the intake manifold from turbo to fender. Some are designed to connect just after underside intake manifold tube.
The WRX intake would be about 2 feet long whereas the 2.5RS is about 4 feet.
You want this: 2.5RS or any non-maf EJ motor.

Not this: Turbo EJ

Thanks a bunch. Where is the filter head for the first one in the fender?

behind the fog light.
When you see the intake in the engine bay its a "short ram intake or warm air intake"
When you see the intake go into the fender its a "cold air intake"
Think about your stock air induction system. Its a cold air intake.
Throttle Body -> Air Box (muffles sound) -> tube -> air box w/ filter -> tube into fender -> snorkel (prevents water intake / sound reduction) -> Tube up to the fender -> Intake scoop that sits on the radiator support.
Cheers

This description is for BL/BP.
Third gens have the air box/filter assembly attached to the throttle body and then through plastic tubes to the intake scoop on the rad support. Only one air box and filter is right by the throttle body. Either way I believe the question has already been answered. Any N/A MAP sensor intake will work. 2001 or earlier 2.5RS is usually what people use because they seem to have more aftermarket support.
Any intake for a 02+ 2.5RS will work.
Are you sure on this I think that 03 and up 2.5RS are MAF and 02 and down are MAP. The OP needs a MAP based intake.

Sorry I was thinking about the BD/BK..
And yes you are correct.. some RS's are MAF..
My mistake, thank you for pointing this out.

NON-MAF

Not sure what the difference in design is..
Pretty cheap.. But its a short ram intake.
