what size rotors with the 4pot/2pot calipers

What size rotors should i get? I keep seeing 294mm but also ran into a 316mm. I have a 2000 Subaru Legacy Blitzen BE5. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i get confused when it comes to US and JDM specs. specially when you start getting into years in the states versus japan and what model fits on what model legacy and what year...

I'm pretty sure it's not 316 though.

I could use a tape measure, but that would only tell me what size I have, not what size I can go up to.

I thought that's what you were asking... if you go up you'd at least need brackets to relocate your calipers, probably different calipers considering the larger rotors are thicker(?), then you'd have to think about whether your rims will clear them. So to answer your question, I don't know... but it will probably start getting expensive.

Edit: Are you upgrading to 4/2 pots? Didn't your Blitzen come with 4/2 pots? :?:

I do have them, but they don't come stock. All I had to do to fit them was buy the bracket for the rear.

I don't know, you asked what size you should get... you should use what size you have now (hence the tape measure) unless you want bigger rotors in which case you'll need more than just rotors. :smt009

you can't go bigger on the 4 pot/2 pot from the 294mm diameter unless you get different brackets for them. I don't recall anything for the 2pots and the only one that I can think of for the 4pot that will allow you to run 315+mm rotors was a set that powerslot used to make for the USDM WRX that "sized-up" the rotor without changing the caliper...it was marketed more as an aesthetic upgrade than a performance one.

and yeah no easy way to upsize the rotor with the 4-pots. if it were a radial mount or sliding caliper you'd be able to just change the brackets but there's no such luck with a caliper like the oem 4-pots.

the 294mm rotors with good pads are more than adequate until you up the power and start spending a lot of time on the track.
