I started my car this morning to the sound of a bad idler pully.
sounds exacly like this..

I have a 2.2 sohc engine. I have seen different answers, can someone tell me if this is an interference engine?
After some research I could go with a timing belt kit to replace all the belts, tentioner, pullys, and pump. They sell for cheap on ebay. One question is this even an option for me? I have used all genuine Subaru parts for replacements since i started driving this vehicle. I dont really want to break that trend with such important components. Plus i have no real mechanic expierance. As unexpieranced as I am I wonder if a novice can do this work on their own in a very short amount of time... This is all to only keep it cheap since i am not made of money and need to get to around.
Or I could go to the dealership. They are fast, reliable, but most off....... expensive
