Just bought my first legacy

I bought my first legacy wagon this weekend. The drivers side door does not lock. even if I force it from the inside it won't stay locked. I'm a college student and don't feel comfortable leaving it unlocked all the time. any help would be awesome! thanks! :smt023

You should provide more information. You have a Legacy but we need more specific details to help you. What year is it, what trim level is it? What country are you located in? This is important because there are differences in the cats sold in Japan vs the US. Also would be helpful to know any relevant options the car has such as if it has power locks and power windows.

Had a similar issue, look at the key hole on the outside. Mine was slightly turned and when i stuck the key in and locked/unlocked it with the key it fixed it.

Like the others have said, we need a year... All cars differ from year to year...

Are you holding the handle while you close the door? If you don't, it will just unlock.

If not, is it physically jammed?
