recycled old rims?

I have an oval rim that i want to get rid of, I wanted to know how much i would be expecting to get from it. I've been reading and I've seen that some scrap yards pay about 10$, is this correct? Could I get more for my old rim?

Might as well just put it out on the curb and let the professional recyclers handle it. You know, the guys in the old trucks that circle your 'hood before trash day.

But then again it depends on how far you have to drive to drop it off...
