Hi guys,

I just bought some 17x7 +40 rims thinking they were +52 and was wondering if they'll work with stock sized 215 45 tyres on a BG5 without any fender rubbing. I have Tein coilovers lowered about 30-35mm but would want the rims to work with stock Bilstein suspension too.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I run 225/45/17's. 17x7 +48 had some rubbing with my 04 STI suspension setup. Only in the rear. Had a SLIGHT fender roll and all is good.

Man you're killing me!

I just bought some 17x7.5 +50 and was probably going to sell the 17x7 +40 and get some thing else.

Your 17x7 +48 extend 5mm further out while my 17x7.5 +50 extend 9mm further!

So I guess now I need to know if the 7.5 +50 is gonna work too?!

Well I have the 17x7.5 +50 fitted, only driven home slowly... so far so good. The 17x7 +40 would stick out 4mm more but the fact that they're just a 7" rim means the tyre may stick out even more than that. Might work but I'm gonna try to sell them and get something cheaper now I have the SSR's, thanks for the help.
