New member from California-'99 bk gt

Hey there, newish member that finally has some pictures to throw up. Recently took off the adr gt sport wheels it came with for some '05 lgt wheels and installed jdm projectors. Also have jdm side markers but am looking for a white drivers side fender and a proper wiring solution before installation. Unfortunately I'm still a noob and don't know how to compress the pictures for this site. They're several mb's a piece and cant squeeze them down to 256 kb. Any ideas??

Welcome! To solve your fender problem try looking at local salvage yards for parts.

Yeah I've been looking for a while, but I have been trying to stick with a white one so I don't have to worry about painting the thing and hope it matches the rest of the car. The plastics could use some new paint for sure.

As for mods/specs you're pretty much lookin at them..
Started with a 1999 Subaru Legacy 2.5gt Wagon M/T @ 122k and

installed:
-jdm projector headlights (need to open them remove the amber globe, and modify the cutaway for lhd)
-'05 lgt wheels (17x7 +55) on 225/45R17 federal super steels? cheep tires I'm assuming-I just swapped them over from the 17's that came on the car
-5mm hubcentric rear wheel spacers to clear the rear struts-tires are a tad too wide
-removed the purple tint on all 7 windows..super fun without steam ha
-general maintenance while at school-p/s bellows and sway bar links up front

awaiting installation:
-jdm side markers. pending that new fender and wiring issues
-04 wrx black rear seat-trying to find matching fronts (thinking of dying the carpet black while I do the swap)

I'm looking at lowering it for less than an arm and a leg. On CL I have either 06 sti struts/springs or kyb gr2 w/h&r sports for around 300. Just depends on what direction I want to go.

As for the future I need to do head gaskets eventually but don't have the space to pull the motor. So I'm looking for an EJ20R and trans that I can have some custom headers built for to bypass the sequential system completely. Going to then regasket and blueprint the ej25d and sell it to make back some money. As for the 5 spd in it now...I'm thinking RWD conversion??? one transmission for winter and one for summer. Basically I love AWD and would never say a bad word about it but the UTI I go to doesn't have an all wheel dyno so I wouldn't be able to bring it in post swap and tune it. Plus I hear RWD legos are a blast.

Nice Find!! What parts did you get? It looks like JDM bumper, skirts, grille and power folding mirrors? Are the projector headlights HID? How is the lightoutput since it's beaming toward the right? Does it blind oncoming traffic? Car looks great!

I have un-moddified projector headlights (non-HID) on my car and have had them on for almost two years now... not a single passing car has flashed me.

Can't wait for you to get your front end on... then we can do a photo shoot!

I emailed him thru CL but didn't hear back; I'm up in Portland, so it doesn't really surprise me if the seller would be unwilling to ship...

I have the JDM headlights (non HID for the moment) and they do have a cutoff that favors the left lane more than the right but I have adjusted them to compensate, and if/when I convert to HIDs am going to open the lenses and try to flatten out the cutoff so its a straight line.
In the picture awaiting install:
-jdm L7 grille
-jdm gt-b bumber w/projector fogs and bumper support
-jdm left fender w/ signal to replace the dented one above (bonus as I already have both sitting in my room waiting on wiring)
-wrx rear seat (black)
-jdm tail light center garnish (waiting for jdm sides on next shipment)
-jdm power folding/heated mirrors

Yeah that's the add, I'm not sure if he'd be willing to ship or not. Seems like a pretty nice guy by first impressions though. I'm surprised there's no parts up in Portland..I'm from Bend where there's absolutely nothing, but I would think that a city with a port would have at least one guy importing jdm goodies. If not maybe PM me a wishlist and next time I'm there can ask what he's got..

Yea that is where i got a good amount of stuff too... he is really unorganized and finicky with some parts... but he does have parts.

I'll also mention that my projectors have not been converted for LHD; they are just carefully aimed out of opposing traffic, like you guys have done.
