Advice on rebuild a 5 spd

I might be getting a 5spd out of an Impreza obs. Only problem is that it needs new synchros. Anyone with experience in transmission rebuilding know what the cost is to buy new parts, or if it's worth rebuilding? Thanks!

pour rice on them, it'll repair them...thank god your car has enough rice lol

At least I'm thinking about a transmission swap! Did you check your car for spotted cards recently? lol

I have that 06 Wrx tranny that is split and ready to rebuild. Everything is there, but has some gears chewed up. Much more worth the rebuild.

I know someone that needs a trans. I'll see if he wants to buy it. I think I'm going to talk to a professor at my college (trade school) about having a class rebuild it. If not, I will buy a book and do it myself, along with some help from the forums! lol

I'm building a gearbox for my Spitfire right now dude, I have some experience with synchros 'n' stuff.

Plus I've torn apart a few Spitfire gearboxes and put them back together. Even though these parts are almost 50 years old, I believe it's basically the same principle.

I think I will part ways with this trans. It needs a lot of work, and I don't have the money or the time to rebuild it. But there is good news! Some guy in my area wants my trans. Going to sell it to him because I was going to originally scrap it for some extra cash.
