so I have knock sensor code, evap controller code, and second bank O2 under threshold (no cat). the car has a new knock sensor but the wire for it has been spliced to run one of the 8 million different knock sensor plugs subaru makes :smt013, I just replaced the crank speed sensor and the coolant temp sensor. the problem is the car will run in safe mode due to the knock sensor code but also it will idle erratically between 1100k and 500k on idle, to solve this I pulled the hoses coming off the top of each head (pulled them of from the bottom of the intake "torque box" and angled them down so they dont spray oil all over my engine. when I do this it has more power than ive ever felt from a stock 2.5 and ALL the codes are gone even the O2 code which is super weird cuz theirs still no cat so wtf?

Let me try to interpret this... you disconnected the intake recirculation hoses from the "torque" box?
And you're asking why you still don't have CEL's and have more power?

no, I had CEL's but after I disconnected the hoses It was all good, no more CEL no more limp mode and much more power. the odd thing is disconnecting stuff to make it run rite, one would think leaving it the way subaru wanted it would be best but...

Time to seafoam everything?

Doesn't the recirc put back in oil/exhaust vapor? If so, them I'm pretty sure that's an obvious answer; but I wouldn't think the changes would be so immediate. You are talking about the vent on top of the heads of the engine?
I run mine to a catch can, along with the pcv valve.

ya I'm going to put in a plastic bottle for this. the CEL is back but only for the O2 2nd bank, and its got a loopy idle jumping from 600-900 like its cammed or something. what ever I'll just run it like this, its fun and works.
