This is going to be a thread for me fo determin which flares/fender will work with a bd. I know the first ones will be gyrodisc so somwone might as well post it. And of coarse revs!

BGwagon did combined GD WRX fenders with the stock ones. Still a few pics around somewhere.

Those are on an Impreza GC model, not the same as a Legacy. Similar, but not identical.

Well, like you already know GyroDisk used Honda Accord flares (for cost efficiency) on his BD. Honestly, Audi has the best fender flares out there. I've seen some good ones on the Jetta also. I'm not a fan of the Angular Flared of the WRX when the Legacy is the subject matter. The Second gen is much more organic looking then the first generation so I like the smooth flares.

I'd love to see some other smooth fender flares on a BD!!

Hmm not sure if those will work. Let me put these up to a side shot of my car to see if the curves line up.

This looks perfect  Please do something like this and not the typical rivet on ricer crap normally associated with fender flares.

No no no that is not going to happen. In fact they will be metal welded(or plastic welded) and fiberglassed smooth
I like gyros flares, but you would need some wide ass whells to fill the gaps.

What about using 3 series panels as donors? Subaru "borrowed" a few cues from BMW when they penned the legacy. Someone must have made the executive decision to not include flares. They were pretty clearly targeting the BMW 3.

Maybe not the most economical solution

EDIT: actually repro 3 series repair panels are readily available and very economical.

I may actually consider this!

Girodisc's flares are from a '91 accord.

I've been writing down several cars with flares that have potential to be used on the BG:
Late 80s early 90s Nissan Stanza
Pontiac Vibe (first generation)
98-03 Mazda Protege
96-00 VW Passat
Suzuki Aerio SX (plastic flares)

GD flares are simple and flow with the legacy lines.

I thought about using front GD flares for the rear to keep a complete metal widebody/flare but then I got chargespeed GD for the rears..

I am not really sure...

I am going to spend some time and work the flares in to a point thats its visually acceptable.. the door section is massive so i will bring that down to acceptable specs.

After that I will spec out wheels...

As far as the legacy you posted I've seen this for years.. crazy evolution.. I have his main website somewhere....

^^^These look really good! Very tasteful. More like the Audi and VW flares that don't look ricer. They look metal and not plastic which makes me a fan automatically.

Mockup with self tapping screws.

Flip and tack welded.

Removed self taps and finished welding.
