GO TO LAST POST
Its time, My wife and I are ready for more of a luxury cruiser/family car so I'm trading in the LGT.
This weekend i'm going to look at a few things- 2006 Legacy wagon 2.5i, 2008 forester X, and a 2008 Outback 2.5i.
that list is in order of good, better, and best and far as what i think i want.
I think i wanna stay away from the impreza wagons and I've looked at 2012 imprezas but i'm hearing conficting things from the reviews so probly not go that route.
Anyone have any ideas on things to look for with these cars before I go see them? I'd really like to hear any opinions you have on these models
Thanks guys

I'd get the Forester. The BL/BP's are ok if you have kids that are older, but the Fozzie is where it's at for easier loading of infants.
If you don't care about that, but want ground clearance, Outback it is. Typically also, the OB has the heated winter packages and generally a nicer interior.
For the Forester, get the XS model - it has more of the things you want, or will want. It's based on the Impreza platform which makes the wheelbase a little shorter than the Legacy.
They're Subaru's, and they all share the EJ engine. So you look for the same issues on any SOHC EJ25 engine - valvetrain noise, CV axles, autos shifting slowly etc.

I got the '06 Silver Legacy Wagon, price was best and it was super clean
I go on Wed to hand over the BD for it
Its sad getting rid of the BD but the amount of $$ i'd need to put into it just isn't worth it to me
Maybe down the road I'll look for one in good shape and buy as a second car in a couple years.
the body of the BD is near mint and so is the interior but it needs
-new/used 5spd
-suspension on all corners
-Tires REALLY bad
-im spittin coolant and knocking lots so this 2.5 is REALLY close to done
-Diff is very tired
and after all that it wouldn't be worth the $$ I would have to put into it.
at least I still have a legacy so I'll be sticking around :)
Already have big plans
-swap out my tail corners for the red/clear ones instead of stock red orange
-Tint
-window vent covers
-mud flaps
-maybe a lip (garage door style?maybe)
-and maybe higher/outback suspension
-Hella 500's
-and hella supertones
its gonna look bad ass before I hand the keys over to my wife :)
My 3rd Legacy, 1st Wagon, yay

His car is not that bad under the hood, even with the turbo, but both of us hate the drive by wire...
Oh, he has a 6 month old baby girl and they have no problems getting in and out with her...

Well the Sad/Happy day has come.
I never thought I'd get rid of the LGT but the day is here. I had a great drive in this morning. Waking up and seeing the perfect amount of fresh snow on the road was a sign from the subaru gods! Had tons of fun in the snow this morning. Boy am I gonna miss it. BD LGT's is all i've driven since 2005... I could see myself in another someday
But its time for change, Since september 2011 i've bought a house, got married and now just a couple months later, buying a new car. It's a busy time in my life so I hope I have the time to enjoy this subaru as I did my others
After typing this i'm gonna go out and start emptying the car, sad. But the wagon is gonna be so much fun to fill
