I would appreciate some help trouble shooting my problem here. For a couple months now my stereo has been fussy. It powers on and off as it pleases. I have the premium sound package in my car, if it makes any difference. I'm thinking it's probably just a loose connection somewhere... any thoughts?

pop it out, check the wiring, there's probably just a loose connection.

If not, I guess the unit could be going bad, but I doubt that.

I'll see if I can't find the instructions on how to remove a radio.

remove the radio and clean it up a bit, that helped A LOT with mine when it would power on and off, and change stations as it pleased

Thanks again guys, I'm going to try to take it apart next weekend and have a look inside.

there are 6-8 screws you must take out before completely removing the radio. two behind the cup holder, two behind ash tray, two above ashtray running vertically, and two more in the back holding the radio in. Remove all screws and removing and replacing the dash kit is very easy. I have taken in on and off 4 times with ease putting in my pioneer deh-p7700.
