What other model year strut bars will fit a 3rd gen BE?

GC/GF are direct fitment as long as they do not sit too high.

I've been told GC8/GF8, BD5/BG5 and even BC/BF fit BE/BH. I think there's a Forester that also fits.

From what I read those fit length wise but new holes will have to be drilled because the strut mounts are different. Iirc some have to be rotated and put on backwards to make fit too. Gc/gf are truly bolt on with no modification provided you make sure to get one that is not too tall.

no, the strut towers on the 02-06 sit much lower than on the BE/BH, that strut bar will hit your hood. Tried it before.

I thought it was the other way round - bolt pattern the same and adjustable bars being able to fit by changing the length.
I'm thinking I might buy one or two for different models just to check but no one wants the ones I already have.

OK just did some research, you may be right. To the OP I would still say stick with GC, low mounting arms as Ben said. Here is a pic of subaru_terrence's car I found searching

Checked the STi and Cusco catalogues and the part numbers are the same for BD/BG, BE/BH and Forester SF. Impreza STi part numbers are different from the Legacy but I have an STi carbon bar on my BG5 now and I can only find them advertised for the Impreza
I now have a Syms (chrome/yellow), Apex'i (carbon/red), STi (carbon) and Cusco (chrome/blue - unused, GC8 so need to check fitment) available if you want one.
Edit: just checked the bars I have on my car and the ones for GC8 Imprezas fit fine, so the Impreza GC/GF, Legacy BD/BG, BE/BH and Forester SF should all be interchangeable, can't say for sure about the BC/BF, may need an adjustable length bar..
