Skill level

2 Moderately difficult.

Ok, so you got your Mud guards in the mail and your excited! You tell yourself "I'm installing these tonight!" and you then try. You look and realize that it's not that easy...

First and foremost, CLEAN ALL surfaces they will attach to!

Well, this is how I did mine. They are not hard, but can be a challenge to someone...

Here are some tools you will need... Or at least the ones I used...

Prepping the parts.. Sorry, I didnt get before pics, my bad... Most likely you are going to get ones like what I did. They had Factory OEM sticky 3M style tape on them and that NEEDS to be removed. I then re-installed new 3M tape. I'm sure other brands will work, but this is what I had and used.

Next thing to do if find some nuts and bolts that fit. This is how I did mine. I also made metal sleeves for the guards so it didnt crash the rubber. They fit the hole perfect, bolts are a little lose, but thats ok. Long bolt is for the bottom, shorter one was for the wheel well.

Next is trying to figure out how to mount them... This can be tricky! Since I didnt take them off in the first place, I had no real idea how they mounted, but it only took a few minutes to understand this.

Here is one part that will need to be removed from the rear... There is a clip that needs to be completely removed.

This hole DOES NOT line up with any factory holes. You will need to drill a new one. Test fit the part (without removing the 3M tape covering) to find where the wheel well bolt hole will me to be drilled. Mark it and then drill it with the part out of the way.

This is where it gets a little tricky! Remove 3M adhesive covering. What I did was stick the long bolt for the bottom in the lower hole and vary slowly set the part in place. You only have one shot so make it count!

As soon as you have it all snug, tighten all your bolts and make sure everything lines up and the rears are done! :smt023

Ok, now your ready for the front! These are a bit different.

Remove this little do-hicky...

Remove this 10mm bolt... Your gonna use that hole...

Hit the bolts bit, if you have one like I do, and find what you need. Make sure they are bolts that will not get killed by rust and what not, just in case you need to take them off for any reason.

Factory hole in the fender lines up as needed. This is the clip I decided to use...

Peal and line up just as instructed with the rears. This one will be a little different, but same principal.

Thanks for the write-up! I'm holding off installing my spats until I can find a JDM rear bumper lower lip.

That is probably the case for sedans, but I'm looking for the GT-B style rear lip for wagon, seems to be unique to JDM wagons. (allow me to borrow your pics from your thread here lol https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22913 )

The USDM GT lip gives the wagon quite the "Jelly-Bean" look IMO lol. From my understanding the GT-B bumper and lip is all one piece, but apparently there is a separate rear lip for wagons with the GT-B look (pic borrowed from an ebay UK auction):
