So I want to put a new motor in my 98 BK. It has 260xxx on the original EJ22 and I would like to have some more power. I am not going to be racing or anything I just want a fun "family wagon". I am not sure whether to go with the USDM or JDM because of the ecu differences.

I also would like to swap a 5mt into it as well (its automatic now). Is this worth it?

I have found a JDM EJ20k with a transmission and ecu for $1600. Is that a good price?

Lots of questions  thanks for any advice!!

First question is do you have to pass emissions? Anf if you do is it just a visual inspection or do they plug in to your OBDII port?

I don't know anything about that motor. Is it the six cylinder?

Yep 240 hp stock. I have a merged harness and ecu for it too. All you need to do is drop it in bolt it up and customize the cooling system.

Well what are you replacing it with?

He's parting the car out, I believe.

You'll want to get a fairly strong 5MT to handle the torque the EG33 has, that'll be the hardest part.

Where do you live? And how much do you want for.it? Why are you parting it out?

I am in pa (18643) and asking 500 for everything. I am parting out because everything around the swap is starting to give me problems. Rear is acting up now and possibly drive shaft vibration. Not to mention other problems. Engine runs great and has plent of power to slide the car around. What year car you swapping into? Jump in my fs thread in "legacy parts".
