Replacing/Rotating steering shaft u-joint

is it possible without dropping the rack? Because I spent about 2 hours trying to get the damn u-joint on my replacement rack, and now my steering wheel is upside down. I would prefer to flip just the steering wheel inside but I dont know if thats possible or not. Also, is there any do it yourselves for steering shaft u-joint replacement?

Removing the u-joint is possible without dropping the rack

0) Always secure the steering wheel with a stopper. A small jack / bungee cords / tension spring / etc...
1) Unbolt the upper clamp and the lower clamp .. IIRC its 10mm possibly 12mm

2) Use a long pry bar and from the bottom tap the u-joint upwards so that the splines become exposed

3) The bottom section should look like this

Repeat the same steps for the upper section.. just attack the pry bar from the top of the engine bay.

Yes its possible to flip your steering wheel:

0) unbolt the negative terminal on the battery
1) Remove the saftey screws (tamper torx) for the air bag
2) Disconnect the clock spring and connector
3) Unbolt the large 16mm (i don't remember the exact size) bolt that holds the steering wheel to the column.
4) Pull the steering wheel out and rotate to the proper level.

Thanks chuck! I ended up doing it at the steering wheel by centering the clock spring and wheel.
