Im using full synthetic mobil 1 extended performance 5w-30 motor oil and mobil 1 extended performance oil filter for my car. I looked and it seems they only have a conventional gear oil the mobilube hd plus 80w-90. I want to use a synthetic gear oil and was wondering would it be ok to use the mobil 1 synthetic gear oil LS 75w-90 for my car?

It'll be ok, I use it on my trans and rear diff

I believe GL-5 type oils are actually recommended. So you should be using 75w-90.

That being said, you can buy Subaru Extra-S for 15 bucks a quart from Here. (http://www.fredbeansparts.com/index.php/subaru-75w90-extra-s-gear-and-transmission-quart-bottle.html) This is supposed to be absolutely the best stuff for our transmissions, and it shifts like butter.
