Wobble = Vibration = Crank.
Crank vibration can destroy journal bearings which lead to rod knock / spun bearing.
Lots of used cranks on SLi and some lightweight units also.
The stock subaru crank pulley is not a "harmonic dampener" so the lightweight solid one-piece units are safe to use.

Just ordered a light weight pulley from eBay I hope this takes care of it

^^ you missed chuck's point. If the crank pulley is wobbling, and it's installed correctly and torqued properly, and is not damaged, then the CRANK SHAFT has play in it and that's an internal engine issue.
Check to make sure your existing pulley is installed properly.

I dunno, replacing the pulley and seeing if that fixes it isn't a bad way to tell. A damaged pulley may not be easy to identify, and who of us wouldn't take the opportunity for an upgrade? :smile:

People who think that the Crank Pulley is Harmonic Balanced :-D

What is harmonic balanced then? If the crank pulley is wobbling it's because the rubber between the inner and out rings has deteriorated and started to come apart. Happened to me and it ended up destroying the little slot that the key chuck sits in. Replaced the pulley with a WRX one and it's been fine ever since. Replace the pulley immediately before it does damage. You don't want to mess up the keyway in the crankshaft.

A damaged pulley can still throw things off even if it isn't. I agree that it's probably not the cause of the problem, but getting a lightweight pulley, then realizing it's not the issue and reselling said pulley isn't a big deal.

Or just getting a stock pulley from a lower mileage car like a WRX or STI. $35 vs $125.

89 for the one I ordered but all the post say that it's possible so I figured it's worth a try there's no knocking or vibration during acceleration or anything and I haven't lost power I'm stuck with the car either way and I wanted to do a pulley upgrade can anyone tell me if they're as good as the adds say?

HP increase is null.
However the amount of rotational mass you drop by going to the LCP is going to give you better rev response... Similar to doing a light weight flywheel..
No harm in using this until you manage to get a 9-10K redline :-D
