I am in New Brunswick. We get lots of snow here in the Maritimes.
The car is Brighton 4AT, I got it 4 years ago when I was in grad school.
The first owner had the entire short block replaced at 117k km under Subaru good will, and decided to dump the car shortly after. Now it has 195k on the odo and still works fine. No major problems beyond regular maintenance.

I added LGT fog lights, roof rails, and 2-pot brakes with 297 mm rotors and HPS pads. The latter two were a must as we haul 3 mountain bikes and a Thule box on a regular basis.

My to do list for this spring:
Continental ExtremeContact DWS for summer (winter set is Nokian Hakka R)
KYB GR2 all around
LCA bushings, endlinks etc. as needed
Upgrade rear seatbacks to ones with headrests
Bluetooth-enabled head unit (looking at JVC KDX50BT)

Also, word of advice, stay away from JVC units. I had two, and installed them twice, both times, bluetooth failed. One was the model you have listed. If you want a good unit for bluetooth and quality, go with Alpine or Clarion.

As for your question, model you mentioned seems pretty solid. I emailed my sound guy last night, and his reply today was fairly positive for this model. Basically you want to look for "built in Parrot" bluetooth to get top quality for your bluetooth needs. Never get an extension piece for it, for many reasons. First model unit will not cover warranty. 2nd, it may not be supported brand. And 3rd, if you pay for install when buying your head unit, the install of the extension piece will not be covered if there is a problem later if installed at say Bestbuy/Futureshop type places. (And yes I know there is no Bestbuy in Freddy Beach lol)
I know the JVC unit looks nice, with its flashy and fast colors, but BELIEVE ME, you wont want the headache of paying for install more than once, or tearing your dash apart multiple times to try and troubleshoot when no one can hear you via bluetooth. Im not the only one this has happened to with JVC also...Also, Pioneer isn't terrible, but I'd stay away, Ive heard bad storys. See more info for unit you are interested in:
