Does anyone know if a ej20g would work with all the wiring and ecu of the v4 sti? I'm asking this because i bought a 2002 impreza rs with a STI V4 swap in it and i wanted to swap everything into my legacy (currently in stock form) but i found out the engine was blown (i pulled out a sparkplug and it was all like "hammered") if the ej20k internal are too much damaged i wont fix it for now i'll just buy a plain and simple ej20g from a jdm 97 forester and put the sti intake manifold and wiring on the longblock with all the sti goodies(turbo, intercooler, exhaust, injectors...) what is the less costly to do to have my car running and have some power and reliability. Rebuild the ej20k or buy a ej20g? What would i have to do to about wiring to make my Car runs the turbo engine properly with minimal issues?

Welcome to SLi from Toronto :-D
Its kind of hard to say.. Since the ECU and Engine harness are stragiht forward its the dashboard wiring you have to worry about.
The GD RS you bought already had the wiring merger done by the pervious owner. Are you using a v4 cluster or the standard GD RS cluster?
That being said you will have to splice your legacy dash wiring into the version 4 ecu if you attempt to swap to your Lego.
Since we live in Canada and importers are a dime a dozen its much easier to find a long block however .. in the end rebuilding will give you piece of mind and allow you to do minor upgrade like head gaskets, seals and possibly internal work if you have the coin.
once again welcome to SLi and grab a copy of the Factory Service Manual from my signature / literature section.
Cheers

Thanks a lot,
i was thinking i could switch the cluster to put the 2002 rs in my Legacy or i could merge my legacy wiring into the v4 ecu. I am more of the easiest and less costly way to do it :P
I have a friend who did a v4 sti into his 97 outback so wiring should be the same, he still have the diagram and maybe more stuff i could use for my swap. I'll start to work on the car next week and i will do a compression and leak down test to have the best idea of the damaged motor, but i think i will have to look for an other engine to install. I can't wait to start working on this.
