KING SPRINGS.. anyone running the STD height, or RAISED?

Looking for some reviews / pictures of people running the KING SPRINGS STD height, or RAISED springs on their Subaru Legacy. Or if you are running OUTBACK king springs on a legacy, post those up too.

Thinking I may pick some of these up in the future, and not sure which ones I would want to go with. They will be going on my 99 Subaru Legacy GT SEDAN.

When running the list springs, do you need to run different struts or change anything else in order to get a proper alignment? I would want to get rid of the 'saggy butt' look as well, so I think I would add a spacer to the back.

Any pictures or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Trying to figure out how much of a lift these will give, and which set of springs would look best on a sedan. If you are running a different set of tires as well.. post the size!

Yes, but with what struts? Outback struts are taller than Legacy struts.

If I run one of the setups, would I need to run outback struts? I'm guessing that people run outback struts with the outback STD or LIFT springs. Not sure it would be good to run the lift springs with stock LGT struts.

No, I'm just saying that your pictures are apples to oranges. The Outback has longer struts, and the Legacy has lifted springs. They look about the same because of that. You can't really make the comparison without everything else being equal.

I don't really know anything about these vehicles.. they are just what I was given from primitive as some examples. He said the following:

Maroon car has King RAISING springs and rear strut top spacers...

I just assumed the white car had the standard springs..

But what are you getting at anyways? LOL I'm just seeing if anyone has some more info about these. I'd like to see some sedans on the STD or lifted outback springs..

Well, you're looking at pictures of the cars with the springs on them, so you're looking at a cosmetic change. But you have two different starting suspensions, so the changes aren't really comparable. They both have about the same amount of overall lift because the struts are different, despite the springs also being different. The Maroon Legacy isn't an outback, and didn't have the raised struts from the outback, so the springs do the lift. The Outback has those raised struts, with the standard length springs, so it's stock height. I guess I'm not really sure what you're going for. Do you want to be taller than stock on your GT?

On the Subaru legacy SUS.. do they use larger springs, or just the outback struts?

I'm looking for a bit of a raise over stock height, that way I could maybe fit larger tires. Basically just sick of having to worry about being so low. It makes it a pain to work on the car too. Maybe I could use outback struts, with STD height king springs and some spacers in the rear??

Basically trying to figure out WHAT kind of lift I want. Thats why I was hoping some people may have pictures of their cars on king springs. I think I will go with the king springs because they are stiffer then stock. I tried the GT-B springs and Bilsteins once and absolutely hated them because they were so soft compared to the Eibachs I'm currently running.

That would be the ticket, I would think. You could also look into an 04/05 Forester XT suspension. Those should use a stiffer strut/spring setup and will bolt on with a complete assembly.

It would be worth contacting King about the spring rates if you're concerned about too soft of a ride.

King Springs offers a lifted spring for the BD Liberty/Legacy chassis. It will offer you about a 20mm raise over standard, front, and 30-40mm raise for the rear.

"Standard" depends on what struts you are fitting them to. Kings are designed to be OEM drop in replacements. So if you take a stock BD, and apply the appropriate lift spring for that chassis and engine combo from King Spring, it will raise it approximately 20-40mm (front/rear).

If you took BG (Outback) chassis and applied the appropriate lift spring for that chassis and engine combo, etc.

Seriously though, if you just want to lift your BD higher than a stock BD, just put some used Outback springs on it with your stock struts.

Arent the stock Outback springs not as stiff? King says both their STD and raised springs are 25% stiffer than OEM.

Also, they only seem to make LIFT springs for the OUTBACK chasis. The subaru legacy only seems to have STD springs, which I assume are the same amount of coils as STOCK OEM GT springs??

So what your saying is.. go with the OUTBACK STD springs, or what? If i go with the stock king springs for the Legacy GT sedan, they probably wont lift it.. buy may be stiffer.

Both really. I want to go a bit higher then stock.. but also want a stiffer spring. I'm running eibachs right now, and I like them because they are stiff and get rid of body roll. However, getting a bit sick of the low clearance.

I've got BG raised (KSFR-26/KSRR-25) springs on KYB GR2s right now. When I get my camera battery back tomorrow, I'll take some pictures.

Since I didn't add strut spacers, the ride height really doesn't look that much different (I assume it would on a BD) but the handling/ride quaility is stellar. Turn in is crisp and body roll is greatly reduced even with the taller stance. In off road conditions, they deal with mud, ruts and bumpy dirt so much better than the OEM stuff and that wasn't too shabby to begin with.
