93 Legacy WARM start problems

So as most people would do after having issues with this, I checked google. Lots of different answers all for the same related issue.

Heres the specs..

93 2.2L non turbo 5 speed
Just did the head gasket repair.
No I'm not sure if there was an issue prior to purchase.

I have no engine codes
The car starts cold just fine.
I also have a hunting idle at times.
Idle stays at about 1900-2000 when in nuetral or between shifts for about 5-10 seconds, then slowly climbs down to 900-1100rpm

Ive been told:
Coolant temp sensor, doesnt know when the car is warm/cold so it floods the car when warm, not allowing it to start. I did a "fuel clear" on it (pedal to the floor when starting the car, cuts fuel to the injectors and opens the throttle body for air to come in, allowing the "trifecta" to commence (fuel air compression)
Idle Air Control Valve, picking up a gasket right now, then I will clean her up and see what that does. This hopefully will fix my idling problem.

Any help is appriciated, need this to be reliable in 2 days before I drive over to college..

Is your problem a long cranking time, slow crank, starts and dies...

I'd try the coolant temp sensor first. There's 2 on the crossover pipe - one for the gauge cluster and one for the ECU. The one with the spade connector is for the gauge, so if it registers your temp then it's fine. THe one with the actual plug on it is what you're looking for. Pretty cheap to replace.

If that doesn't work try replacing your Crank position sensor, when they go bad, your car will start fine but when it's warm, it's almost impossible to start. Happened to me last year.
