So I have been wondering, do any of you have a BD with a trunk interior panel on your deck/boot lid? It looks like there are provisions for it, but I have never seen one. In not I think I'm gonna build one just because I think it would look better...

Crappy pic, but you get the idea...

none here either. It would be nice to have a carpeted panel for the bottom of the trunk lid.

Hmm... I'm thinking I might be making one then... I wonder if there are any other cars that might fit, like a Honda. I know Hondas have them... I think it would just make the car seem a little more finished..

Shouldnt be too hard to carpet something and attach a few of these to the back:

Hmmm... I dont know of many BL's around, but I'll see what I can find...

The clips are the easy part...

I guess I am not sure what you mean... assuming there isnt anything made specifically for the BD... wouldnt you be fabbing one up anyways?

I can figure out things better if I have a basic idea of what it looks like in person. If there is one thats close to the same, then that would be a start....

Make one out of Kydex!!!!!

That would shape and conform to the trunk as needed... then you could just carpet it.

Thanks Chuk!

Harry, what is Kydex? Never heard of it....

BE's got a carpet-like panel inside the bootlid.
Or are you talking about the backside of the rear seats?

EDM BE's have them. USDM do not.. Check above at the opposedforces links..

My old 99 SUS Limited had the carpeting on the trunklid, as well as LSI BD's I've seen in the JY. There's a cool fitted insert that covers the jack as well.
My 96 "L" didn't have those, so my guess it is a trim level thing.

Hmm... I have a Limited GT so I'm not so sure about the rim level thing. Unless its a 99 thing, that would make sense. I have never seen one, but I'm looking now. I want one! I thin it would just add to the car a little...

I think the previous owners screwed you, lol  Cuz the LSI's I saw that on were from 95-96

Kydex... Super awesome mold-able thermoplastic.

I have seen it commonly used to make custom holsters. You might just fall in love with all the things you can do with it... and it isnt really expensive.

But you could make a panel that curved the support ribs/beams of the trunk like the one that Chuck posted... instead of just having a flat carpeted piece.

Just use some of that frostking sound deadener/insulation, then get some floor carpet, spray on adhesive and attach. Cheap as chips!

my 99 legacy doesnt have anything on the inside of the trunk lid but does have the cover for the tire jack.

Cover the thing with Raamaudio's ensolite and call it good.

Peel and stick acoustic and thermal barrier FTW - cant beat the cost either.
