Largest tire?

Wondering what the largest oversized tire I can use on a '99 BG with stock outback suspension. I have a set of 16's I'm going to be putting on that need new tires and want to get something a little bigger and somewhat aggressive for a "car" tire.

Stock size is a 205/70-15 so using a tire calculator it seems a 215/60-16 should be about the same height, slightly wider. A 215/65-16 is about 1.xx% taller along with 225/60-16 @ 1.xx%. I don't mind using a small spacer if I have to. Anybody have any insite on this?

If you have 16x6.5 wheels, then go for the 215/60/16's. They fill out the wheel well nicely. If you have 16x7's, a 225/60/16 will probably fit.
