Thank you guys for running a quality forum with no strict and ridiculous rules and restrictions and for managing such a friendly ecosystem here.

I just signed up to the Mazda RX7 forum for a build I am helping a friend with. They are Nazis over there. It is very clear that whoever administers the forum has no clue how to do it. You need 5 posts to view most forums, which promotes spamming and limits access to information. But they lay the ban hammer down on you for stupid things, like posting links to other car forums. I linked to this website in my introduction thread before reading the rules and probably got my thread deleted (they go through moderator review). There are restrictions on images and signatures, and their number one rule is "Attacks on moderators will not be tolerated, and may result in an immediate permanent ban." It's followed by rule number 2, "Keep in mind that this is not a democracy." Im sorry, that just seems a bit like a North Korean idealism to me.

I know the same things go here in one way or another, but thank you to the mods and admins being part of the community and not trying to act like the big brother who is always right and who has all the power. I enjoy being a normal user and having rights and freedoms, like linking to legacyGT or NASIOC if there is a post that is helpful over there.

And thank you especially to the admins who keep all of our information completely free, and who don't require a post count just to gain information. You guys are the best.

Sorry, I'm so pissed off at the RX7 forum that I needed to vent and thank you guys over here.

Having been here since the rebirth (when SLO became SLi) I can say that I really respect Shane for keeping involved with the boards and laying out rules in a sensible way that's good for as many people as possible. It's all about sharing information to make everyone better off, and we definitely achieve that.

I've been thinking what I can say in response but all I can say is thank you. It's sad that some people to do for "power" or other foolish reasons. We do it because we love it. And great people that join us every day and share the same passion as us makes this enjoyable.

I think it's a maturity thing, on both sides, as well. Being the newest mod, I can say that most people on here are respectful towards others. And as Reason said, it's hard not to like others who are passionate about the same awesome car brand that we are!

This has been a nice place to have conversation without looking over ones back... I do feel that we have a great community here and I even feel welcomed with my non Subaru cars as well.

I'm also into some of the collector/toy community and I got an infraction for something as simple as a minor disagreement and a major forum.

I know we do not all love the same car, built the same way. We all voted for different people, some want a fast car, some want a relabel tree huger car, but we can all come here, put aside our differences and have because one of the best internet communities I have ever seen.

I remember when this place died and a few days later this place was right back to what it was before. It was because the ones here, truly cared and respected everyone.. Sometimes i feel like this place should be the benchwork for what car forums so be like. This place has made me sound like a subaru genius at times to others haha, but really its because this group of people who all know bits of everything put it all together for everyone to share. That's what its all about, and im soo thankful to be apart of it.
