Anyone have a suggestion for a new clutch kit for a 2000 Legacy B4, I have scoured the world wide web and other than dropping 1600-2000 dollars for a high performance clutch the only place I found was a Exedy oem replacement from Kudos Motorsport in Australia for $698 including postage which if I remember Exedy clutches have never been that expensive I had one for my 240sx back home for $100 new, but who knows. Anyone bought from anywhere else or do other models work?

I went on ACT's site and tried some others all I could find were the USDM versions for the 2.5 same with Spec, Ogura has them but the prices are astronomical $2000-3000.

I got one for my car for under $700 and I'm extremely happy with it. I'll look it up and see if it's what you're looking for.

I'll have to see if I still have my order info. I remember looking up the size and ordering the right size for a EJ20 2.0 engine.

I'm pretty sure this is the one you need, but do more research just to double check.

Looks good, will anything fit for around our year cars for a EJ20 then? Any with it being heavy duty you haven't had any problems? I had heard sometimes the HD clutches can put a strain on your trans if it is stock.

I haven't had any issues and it really made A difference in my car's performance. There's other clutches you could look into getting.

Well as long as your 100% sure this is the one you have I may go with this option as it is cheaper and I have heard good things about ACT in the past.

Well after some research the ACT SB3-HD(SS/G6/G4) have the same measurements as the Exedy for my car at 230mm OD 25.2mm Spline OD and 24 teeth I think I'll go with the 6 puck for a little smoother from a 4 puck and there is no street disc option for our measurements, probably due to turbo applications. Thanks for the help!

So was it like your normal single plate sprung clutch disk?

Whoever said that is misdiagnosing. If you have an engine that has too much power for the drivertrain, a clutch that is weaker than the transmission will go first. They probably then put a heavy duty clutch on and watched the transmission blow up, and pointed the finger in the wrong direction. I really can't see a heavy duty clutch by itself damaging a transmission.
When you're in there, make sure you get the transmission sleeve kit put on.

Who carries these sleeve kits? This is the first I have ever heard of em.

? Exedy is the manufacturer of all these clutches. they ARE the company that makes them. Exedy = Daikin = OEM supplier to all import cars.
Spec is less quality than Exedy or ACT. I've seen Spec clutches break or fail more than once. Never seen a problem with an Exedy or ACT clutch that wasn't the fault of the user.

I had a Exedy oem replacement in my 240sx, and getting it for $100 on amazon was not bad at all, kept up with abuse easily. until the timing chain snapped now that's a different story :smt022

For future readers, the KSB03 Exedy OEM replacement will work just fine in a BE5, had it installed last week and had no issues.
