I have a "JDM" questions for someone in Japan/Europe please.

I have a 2004 wrx wagon.

Here in the US the WRX was available in 2002 and 2003 as a "Bugeye"

Then in 2004 and 2005 as a "peanut eye" which is what I have.

2006 and 2007 are called "hawkeye"

So now to my question:

I want to get JDM tail lights into the wagon that look like the JDM sedan tail lights for the 2006/2007.

DID SUBARU EVER MAKE A WAGON TAIL LIGHT THAT IS DARK GREY INSIDE LIKE THE JDM SEDAN ONE?

You could always bake and paint the USDM ones.

I baked and cleared the headlights with no troubles at all.

Both the 1.5i and the WRX wagons of '05-'07 have taillights that look exactly like the one you said you have. Although some have a rear fog light and that look a little weird.

So then to clarify... there are no WRX wagons in Japan that have the darker grey/metalic insides like the 06/07 STI ones correct?

The USDM one is more of a brushed silver (Not chrome like 2007) instead of a dark graphite grey. The picture of the JDM STI darker light has glare from flash but it is noticably darker than the 2006 US wagon.

in the time spent researching this and waiting answers, you could just bake them and paint them :)

Wrong... banking mine and painting them still wouldnt make them look like the 06 tails. Notice the reflector/ internal housing are different as are the areas of the lens that are dimpled vs clear.

This is what I meant.

I went out and looked at the 06/07 tails on my 04 sedan. they are light grey/silver. I'm not seeing the "dark grey" you are referring to

Maybe it is just the light but these JDM V9 STI rears seem to be darker no?

It almost looks like a brushed gunmetal... The lights you posted before look like painted plastic.

The reflections definitely make it look like metal though.

There wasn't any other kind of OEM taillight.

So when you open up the ebay link that I posted... those V9 STI tail lights look WAY darker than either of the two wagon tails you posted right? I can live with the fact that they never made them that color for a wagon.

Also, what part of the tail light in the second picture lights up for the "rear fog light"? Is it the clear outermost circular part?

No. You see that only one side has the circular red lamp? That's what lights up.
