For the tldr folks, the miata is easier to use on bad roads, but stock for stock the BRZ is a better track day special. I'm glad they're making this car (and the miata too), but honestly I don't see how it could fit into my lifestyle. That coupled with the availability of cheap 1st gen miata's makes it a tough sell for me.

The BRZ has back seats that would fit kids and more storage, so it would be a better fit for my lack-of-lifestyle.

heck, i'd be happy with a brz... though i'd probably make it a softer ride (i like my wagon for the way it handles bumps in the road)

I have a Miata but would love to take that BRZ home. The Miata is not a car you want to take on a long trip at least the first gens.

If you want the BRZ but want a slightly softer ride, the Scion version has a cushier suspension while still handling well. I'm actually surprised they didn't mention that at all.
