new noob questions

I just bought my subie a few weeks ago. It's a 310,000 mile postal wagon legacy L. the thing is rusted and rotted almost beyond but its a RHD and have wanted one for a long time so i am going to attempt to save this one for a while longer. I found a sedan the same color in the salvage yard that i am able to get parts off, front fenders at the bottom are rusted off and the doors are rusted through and the window rails are rusted out, so fenders and doors needless to say. Subaru is warranting my seatbelts, both fronts are frayed and refused to detract on drivers side and refuse to retract on passenger side. I have already learned alot from this forum and will continue to! plan to get some newer wrx or impreza seats, put some 15 inch steels with new tires on it today. The noob question being on a 96 legacy L wagon, is that a BD bodystyle? and when shocks go out are they known to sag in the back?

But to answer your questions
for 95-99 US Legacys the body codes are as follows:
BD-sedan
BG-wagon with raised roof (Outback)
BK-Wagon with smooth roof

The saggy butt problem is more pronounced on the wagons due to their fat ass, lol.
Try pushing down on each corner of the car. Does it bounce back a few times with each heavy press? or once and firmly?
At that mileage it probably isn't on it's first set of suspension. But it probably could use new struts - like the KYB GR2 specifically made for wagons.

eek, I apologize about not breaking it up. mine is a highroof, almost positive, but is a L model. Not new to cars, but Subarus, yes.
This one for the miles runs really smooth. and I meant the salvage car is same color with perfect panels for swapping. It seems like a fun car and would be able to get through alot with the awd...
i am thinking a coilover suspension would be the best to get it to sit how you want when you want, no harm for awd is there? This is the highest miealege car i have ever owned to date, I'm 27, lol.

If you have an "L", its most likely a BK, low roof. If you have a bump a couple feet from the front that goes up about 2 inches, thats a BG high roof...

dead91silvia, you are the man, LOL. i needed to see them next to their names. Mine is a BK low-roof, since it is a postal L. I like that factory wing on those above exaples. the kybs sound good but was also thinking about the tein coilover set for the adjustibility. Did some research yesterday and founf out this thing spent most of its life im minnesota which explains why its almost rusted off its frame, LOL. Salvage yard tomorrow for other fender and some doors. RHD main switch on order.
